Want an easier way to feed your goats?

Goats are easy to feedgoats eating when you use a few basic tools.

One of the main reasons to feed your goats properly is the threat of parasites. Internal parasites are a major concern of all goat producers.  It doesn't matter if they own milk goats, meat goats or just pets, they want their goats to be healthy.

Goats can pick up parasites from ingesting the larval from contaminated feed, hay, pasture or their living quarters. Goats being very picky eaters (not true that they eat tin cans!) will not consume contaminated feed if a clean source is available.

One of the best and easiest ways of assuring your feed is clean is by using a goat feeder that has at least a 4" trough that will keep feed and hay from falling on the ground and being contaminated. This will go a long way to help keep your goats parasite free.

By simply using this hook over feeder it's easy to feed your goats and remove and clean the feeder when needed.

By reducing waste you not only will have healthier animals and safer living conditions but also will save money. Parasite infested goats cause vet and medication bills.

I bought two of the pictured troughs. The goats kept knocking them off so I wired them onto the fence. The problem is that now they can't be taken off to clean. Any suggestions on a better way to keep the goats from knock them down while making it easy to clean them out?

Hi Annette. These goat trough feeders are used best with hog or cattle panels. The hooks on the trough are split, and hook well to the vertical rods of a hog or cattle panel. These hooks make them difficult for the goats to knock off, but still easy to remove for cleaning.
